The California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) is seeking an effective facilitator and collaborator to join the Central California regional team that supports partner districts to effectively implement See this Regional Map for an approximate view of the counties served within this area.

The Training Manager, Engagement & Implementation provides districts in their region with training support to learn about, implement, and maintain sustained district-wide utilization of the college and career planning tools on In collaboration with one another and with other team members in their Region, Training Managers equip district practitioners with the training support and connect them to the resources they need to effectively use with their students.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in training, teaching, presenting, and/or facilitation and can confidently communicate across a wide spectrum of K-12 educational practitioners and stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Director, Engagement & Implementation for their region.

We work to solve large scale, system-level problems. You must be comfortable working with unknowns and ambiguous solutions, as well as passionate about promoting public education and advancing educational equity.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Provide ongoing, high quality, and dynamic training support to partner districts, aligned with districts’ implementation strategy, in order to drive utilization of
  • Serve as the primary point person for platform knowledge-building and training for the regional team.
  • Facilitate training content that is attentive to the audience and confidently speak to how tools can be meaningfully used with students/in the classroom. This includes:
    • Thorough preparation.
    • Articulate and dynamic facilitation.
    • Relevant and responsive follow-up.
  • Regularly interact with educators by answering questions about the platform and connecting them to CCGI supports and resources, where appropriate.
  • Actively support the development and iteration of training materials including but not limited to PPT decks, supplemental resources, etc.
  • Employ data-informed practices to track outcomes of outreach and engagement support on districts’ utilization of, as it relates to training.
  • Actively participate in cross-team efforts and planning to ensure that educators and students use to meet their college and career planning needs.
  • This is a remote position that requires a quiet home office space with some travel. Regular daytime travel and in-person attendance at events and meetings within the region to align with the needs of the institutions in the region. All mileage is reimbursable.
  • Must live in California – residence in the region you are applying is strongly preferred.

What Technical Skills Do You Need?

  • Strong facilitation skills in high stakes environments.
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate complex information orally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with the college and career readiness landscape in California.
  • Experience working in either a K-12, higher education institution, college access organization, or other educational services organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred, or similar Customer Relationship Management tool.

The California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) works to ensure that all 6th-12th grade students in California have access to a systematic baseline of guidance and support as they plan, prepare, and pay for postsecondary education and training.

This baseline is provided by, which provides California students and educators with a wide range of college and career planning information and tools. The site also houses, audits, and transmits student data to help ensure more accurate and efficient decisions regarding admissions, financial aid, and course placement. CCGI provides technical assistance, support, and training to K-12 school districts in order to support students, counselors, and parents with the systematic use of, including its transcript-informed tools.

CCGI serves nearly 50% of California students, and we are slated to scale statewide in the coming years through the California Cradle-to-Career Data System.

We are all located in various parts of California and make use of tools, such as ZOOM, Slack, and Salesforce, to communicate and document our work. While some people regularly travel locally and/or statewide for required business meetings, we only occasionally conduct internal meetings in person.
